Aviation Services, which is a business stream of Serco Defence & Aerospace, is sub-contracted to Cranfield University to provide Air Traffic Services, which includes Air Traffic Control, Airfield Security and Air Traffic Engineering. The contract was originally awarded to International Aeradio Limited (IAL) in the late 1950s and has been here ever since in various Serco guises. We handle in excess of 100,000 movements per annum from light general aviation to BBJ executive aircraft.

Our highly experienced air traffic controllers supply an approach procedural control and aerodrome control service, providing aviators with safe and expeditious routes to and from Cranfield Airport. Our air traffic assistants provide up to date Met information for the promulgation of METARS and TAF's, help pilots with flight plans and assist the controllers. |

| Airfield Security: |
Provide assistance in the flight briefing room, bird control on the aerodrome and deal with all information required by H.M. Customs, Immigration and Special Branch. |

| Air Traffic Engineering: |
Our highly qualified engineers maintain the navigation aids, communication and control systems at Cranfield Airport. |
